MEMBER AGREEMENT
Although forums were the original social media, they are not what big tech has turned them into. This forum is of special interest to people who want to improve our situation by changing the way government employees treat us.
These rules are for the use of this forum. Your committee will have its own rules for meetings based on Roberts Rules of Order.
1. Your committee board is for committee business only. This respects the time of the other members of the committee.
2. NO TROLLING. Trolling is disruptive and not civil. It's not allowed.
3. NO ADVERTISING. Besides advertising, spam includes anything not related to the thread topic. If your committee wishes to allow advertising for your own products or services or those of others, they may set up a separate board for that. Outside of an existing advertising board, advertising is prohibited.
4. NO NEWS FEEDS. You may not post general news on any board in any forum. No one needs to wade through articles that you collect from around the Internet. In fact, the time wasted doing that would be better spent on recruiting members for your committee or working on projects.
5. MEDIA. Images, including memes, audio, and video are frowned upon, unless they advance the purposes of the forum. There is likely little reason to clutter the forum and increase its expense by uploading materials that are already available in other places on the web. Using links is the preferred way to give other people access to outside material. However, links without a description are disfavored. If it's important enough for others to spend time on, the member posting a link should, at a minimum, briefly describe what the material at the other end of the link is about.
5. RESPECT ALL MEMBERS. Do unto others ...
6. PRIVACY. The General board is public. All other boards are private to members. No content from a private board may be distributed or disseminated outside of this forum.
This agreement is subject to change. You will be notified when changes are made. This is not a negotiable agreement, so when changes are made, you are presumed to accept them.
